Moonstone Morpho Butterfly - Antique Frame - Plum Velvet Black Glitter: Oddities Curiosities Gothic Macabre Entomology Insect Art Taxidermy

This rare antique frame contains an unbelievably stunning Pearl Morpho butterfly on black glitter under convex glass. This species of morpho has incredible iridescent color that is hard to truly capture in photos. It can look white from one angle and bright blue from another. I have started calling them "Moonstone Morphos" as my own little nickname because they remind me so much of the blue iridescent flash you see in moonstone. The inner circle of the frame is surrounded by crushed velvet and the ornate gold outer edge is a type of resin cast material.
Frame is roughly 14x15 inches.
